Toronto Man Faces Extradition Amid Allegations of Global Drug Ties and Violence

Court documents recently made public allege that Gurpreet Singh, a Toronto man facing extradition to the United States on drug conspiracy charges, is involved in widespread criminal activities. These unproven allegations, submitted to a Quebec judge in 2024, suggest Singh has connections with major drug traffickers in Ontario and internationally, including a significant figure in the U.K. drug trade. The documents also claim Singh is believed to have committed murders. Singh's lawyer has stated that his client faces no criminal charges in Canada stemming from these allegations.

Singh and his uncle, Hardeep Ratte, were arrested in October 2024 as part of a U.S. federal indictment targeting alleged cocaine kingpin Ryan Wedding. Both were charged with drug trafficking conspiracy and remain detained in Canada, with U.S. prosecutors seeking their extradition to Los Angeles. The indictment details alleged co-ordination of drug shipments for a substantial fee per truckload.

Investigators reportedly gathered evidence, including a recorded meeting in February 2024 involving Singh, Ratte, and an FBI informant who was later killed in Colombia. This meeting, held at an auto body shop, allegedly involved discussions about moving cocaine shipments for Wedding’s network. The informant was reportedly wearing a recording device provided by the RCMP.

Beyond the U.S. charges, Singh is also under investigation in connection with a Toronto police corruption probe known as Project South. Search warrant documents revealed that authorities examined his potential involvement in a plot to target a senior jail official. While Singh and an acquaintance were investigated, neither has been charged in relation to Project South.

Further allegations detail Singh's alleged involvement in international crime, including a scheme to ship stolen vehicles to Dubai and connections with organized crime groups there. U.S. prosecutors have argued that Singh poses a significant flight risk and a danger to the community due to his alleged criminal conduct.
