Stellantis Recalls 1.5 Million Ram Trucks for Seat Belt Defect

Stellantis has announced a worldwide recall impacting more than 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks. The vehicles involved, model years 2019 through 2026, may have been manufactured with a second-row center or driver-side seat belt buckle anchor that was not correctly fastened to the vehicle's body structure.

This manufacturing anomaly could compromise the functionality of the second-row seat belt system, potentially increasing the risk of occupant injury in the event of a collision. Stellantis has reported one injury that may be associated with this issue, though no fatalities have been linked to the defect.

The recall encompasses approximately 1.27 million trucks in the United States, 156,000 in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico, and an additional 75,000 vehicles in other international markets.

Owners of the affected Ram 1500 vehicles will be notified by Stellantis and advised to arrange an appointment with an authorized dealer. Technicians will perform an inspection of the second-row seat belt buckle anchor. If necessary, the anchor will be properly secured to the vehicle's body to rectify the issue.
