Nurse Practitioner Accused of Sexual Assault Against Student

York Regional Police have charged a 58-year-old registered nurse practitioner with sexual assault. The charges stem from an incident reported in July by a nursing student who alleged they were sexually assaulted by their instructor during home care training. According to police, the alleged assault occurred after the pair visited a patient at their home, with the student reporting being driven to a secluded area and inappropriately touched. The accused, who served as a preceptor, is responsible for teaching and evaluating student nurses. Authorities are appealing for additional information, as they suspect there may be more victims.
