How to Embrace Your Fate

Hello, this is Ditto.

As we go through life, there are moments when we suddenly resent the conditions life has placed before us.

'Why do these things only happen to me?' 'What if my circumstances had been just a little different?'

By blaming our unchangeable past and the circumstances we were born into, we often push ourselves into a pit of misery.

German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche delivers a lightning bolt of realization to those of us who feel this way. In The Gay Science, he declares:

"I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things... Amor Fati, love your fate! Let this be my love from now on!"

What does it mean to love one's fate? It is not a helpless resignation, bowing our heads in the face of suffering and sighing, "It can't be helped."

Rather, it is the complete affirmation that even the light and shadows, the successes and failures, and the joys and losses given to us are indispensable pieces of our lives.

Instead of wasting energy blaming what cannot be changed, it is a proactive and resilient attitude—a determination to create the most magnificent art of life using the materials we have been given.

We do not get to choose the cards we are dealt at birth. However, how we play the game with that hand is entirely up to us. Much like a tree that silently reaches outward, carving the marks of weathering the storm into its rings when the wind and rain beat down.

Are you now ready to tenderly embrace the cards of fate you have been dealt?

The days you shed tears and the days you stumbled were, in the end, the precious chisel and hammer that sculpted the person you are today.

I hope you will deeply embrace and affirm your life in its entirety. For only then will life become the most radiant work of art.
